Tips to Disinfect Tiled Surfaces at Your Home

During the coronavirus pandemic, everyone is practicing the highest possible hygiene measures. We have already seen a flooding of new brands offering hand sanitizers, mouth sanitizers, and different types of disinfectants. It is recommendable that you should use products to avoid catching or lower the chances of contacting the virus.

However, these are just the measures of personal hygiene. What about the surfaces around us such as the floor, the wall, the table, and the chair? These surfaces too contain the virus. Disinfecting these surfaces will require you to follow a different approach of cleaning involving a few new products.

In this blog, we attempt to underline some of the tips to disinfect stone and tile surfaces at your home. Check out the following pointers –

  • Prepare a mixture using - 1 cup of ammonia, 1 cup of clear white vinegar, and ½ cup of boric acid (hydrogen borate). Mix them well. If you do not have boric acid at your home, you could use baking soda. All these agents are known for their powerful disinfectant nature. When combined, they disinfect 3 times more effectively.
  • Take the solution into a spray bottle. Now spray the solution over the areas on your stone or tile flooring – which you think may contain virus or bacteria.
  • Now wipe the solution with a clean cloth.
  • Alternatively, you can prepare the mixture in a large bucket and mop or wash your tiled floors and walls.
  • After washing, do rinse the stone/tile surface well.
  • Let the surface dry.
  • And you are ready to use it again.
